9m Pulse Hang Glider and Camping
So this last weekend I went to Lookout Mountain Flight Park and bought a 1996 second generation 9m Pulse that is purple and yellow made by Airwave. I also bought a harness that is going to be black with a 6 inch stripe from my hips to my feet that is black with silver hang gliders spread on it. I am really excited and can finally start my lessons on the training hill AGAIN! Now all that is left to buy is my parachute and helmet! I will post pictures as soon as I pick them both up!
On Friday night, we camped in our tent. It got down to the 20s!!! Talk about cold! I laughed so much the entire night and don’t remember sleeping much. I was laughing at how stupid we were for camping in a tent and sleeping on an air mattress with tons of blankets. It was quite funny. We were tucked under the covers including our heads. When one of us had to move we would warn the other and count and move. It was hilarious, but a fun memorable moment in time.
Touching the Void
Touching the Void is an excellent movie based on a true story of a brave Mountaineer. Very touching movie. This movie made a ton of different emotions run through me, inspiration being the strongest one. This movies makes you look at things very differently and puts things into perspective that’s for sure.
Fun day outside!
Sooo.. for Christmas, Matt and I got some really great tennis rackets. Today is one of the first beautiful days warm enough to go out and break them in. We played for about an hour and got a great workout. Nice frustration release! Although, the ball that we were using totally sucked. There will be many more tennis days for us that’s for sure. Then, off to a game of disk golf. Out of Matt, Jay, and Briggy, Jay won the game. And the dogs got a great day of exercise. FUN day! Can’t wait for the spring already!
3:10 to Yuma
I was worn out and exhausted after dealing with midterms so I decided to watch 3:10 to Yuma. It was the perfect movie to watch for a relaxing evening. I really enjoyed this movie. I don’t have a favorite part really, just really liked it.
Seasoned Potatoes
So, I don’t have a picture of these, but I got the recipe from one of my friends at work. I absolutely love them and they are very easy to make.
Ingredients:
- French Fingerling Potatoes
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- one packet of Ranch Dip Mix
Cut the potatoes into small slices and place in ziplock bag with the other ingredients. Mix well. Leave for minimum of 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pour potatoes into a metal pan (I used a 9 x 13) and cook for 35 minutes. Potatoes should be just slightly crunchy. Cook to your liking.
DELICIOUS!
HAM license and Radio
I took my HAM radio test today and passed. I am now an official licensed HAM radio operator. Wooo! Hoooo! I will post my call sign in a few days when I receive it. I was given a HAM radio for Valentine’s Day and still learning how to use it and its capability. It is a Yaesu FT270R. Very excited. Hang Gliding… Here I come!
Catch Me If You Can
After many hours of doing homework, I decided to watch Catch Me If You Can.
It was a very long movie, but it kept my interest. I am not particularly a fan of Leonardo DiCaprio, but I am a big fan of Tom Hanks. I liked that it was based on a true story and that in the end Frank became a crucial part in society. It is interesting to me how someone strives for years to accomplish the impossible and gains extensive knowledge pertaining to a particular subject and then finds themselves working for the very same people who were out to get them. Very ironic and interesting.
Valentine’s Day Movie
I went to see the Valentine’s Day movie and it was very romantic and cute. The actors and actresses definitely made the movie.
I loved the older couple and the kid. When Julia Roberts comes home and sees her son got me choked up. I got some good laughs, but overall it was just a cute movie.
Funky Valentine’s (Modern Family)
I watch Modern Family on ABC and the episode called “My Funky Valentine” was great. I loved the line, “Valentine’s Day is not the day you run away from love, it is a day you track it down, tie it up, and take it home.” It was awesome! Way to sum it up. If you have not seen an episode of this show, you should. You will laugh a lot!
