December 15th, 2012 >> Concerts, Travel

Amber Caudill came home with me to Austin, TX this weekend.  It was a lot of fun and nice to be home with my family.  We ended up having to fly into Houston, TX because of our plane being delayed.  My awesome, fabulous, best sister drove to Houston to pick us up and head back to Austin.  The Formula 1 Race grand opening was this weekend, so all flights, rental cars, and hotels were booked solid in Austin, Waco, and San Antonio.  We drove by the race and watch the car race around the first turn.  It sounded so amazing!!! Love the sound of fast cars.

We had a nice weekend relaxing and seeing the town.  We also went to see Gary Allan in San Antonio!  I just love seeing him live.  We always have such a great time and I miss going to all his concerts in Texas.

Lenny Kravitz & U2 Concert at the Angels Stadium

Matt and I went to the Lenny Kravitz & U2 Concert at the Angels Stadium.  The was the first time for me to see them and Matt’s second time.  We had sooo much fun.  They put on a great performance.  When they played It’s a Beautiful Day, they had footage of the Space Crew on this last flight incorporated within the song.  It was fantastic and really neat.  Here are a few pictures:

So these guys thought it would be a great idea to have book club reading before the show.  Weird!

This was the best part of the concert.  He made signs that said “It’s a Beautiful Day” and they played the footage during the song.  He also said a lot of things in the video that were really cool.  I loved this part!!!!

Prince, Chaka Khan, & Sheile E at the Los Angeles Forum

April 24th, 2011 >> Concerts

So over Easter weekend, I went to the Los Angeles Forum to see Prince perform his Welcome 2 America 21 days tour.  I don’t even know where to begin.

First, Chaka Khan was the first to perform and she came out on stage at 8:15pm.  (45 minutes late!  Concert was supposed to start at 7:30pm!)  She was fantastic and energetic and all over the stage.  She sounded just as good as she does on the radio.  I was completely surprised she performed and was the surprised guest.

Second, Sheila E also prefer and she was a knock out.  She looked great and played the hell out of some drums.  She was really entertaining too.

Third, Prince was really really really great!!!  He is an amazing guitarist, performer, dancer, musician, singer, and much more.  He was very energetic and looked like he was loving every minute on stage.  He didn’t look like he was just up there performing, but like he was really enjoying himself.  He was very expressive and a very sexy man on stage!!!  I would go back to see him again, hands down!  I only paid $25 dollars to see him and had great seats.  I must say out of all the things I have paid $25 for, this was buy FAR the best $25 I have EVER spent!  The purpose of his 21 days of tour is to try and save The Los Angeles Forum from closing.  He is a really original and amazing man!  I had soooo much fun!

Matt and I having sooo much fun!

Juggling: The Passing Zone Gravity Attacks

March 13th, 2011 >> Concerts, Educational, Hang Gliding

Tonight I went to see The Passing Zone Gravity Attacks with Owen Morse and Jon Wee.  I met Owen a few weeks ago out at Crestline Hang Gliding.  He mentioned he is a Juggler and had a show in town coming up.  I went to see it and it was amazing.  Both of them are very talented and very entertaining.  If you get a chance to see them, I promise it is worth it.  I enjoyed the entire show and time just flew by.  The rubber band trick Owen does is pretty fascinating.  Their website is:

This is just a clip of “Their Story” I thought I would share:
The Passing Zone has been awarded five Guinness World Records and 18 Gold Medals from the International Juggler’s Association.

If you have a chance you should read their whole story, it is quite impressive.

Since Thanksgiving I have done a ton of things.

First, Matt and I attended the Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) The Wall performance at the Staple Center in Los Angeles. We had dinner at the Wolfgang Puck, which was DELICIOUS! The Wall performance was really interesting and parts of it were kind of disturbing. Overall, I enjoyed it though.

Second, Matt and I went hiking at the Chino Hills State Park for hours one afternoon. That was our first time to explore the park near us. It had views of rolling mountains and valleys… gorgeous!

Third, I finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health from Widener University. I am done!!! I am going back to school at Western Governors University for a Forensic Accounting Degree beginning in February. I am very excited and can’t wait to start the program.

Fourth, Matt and I had two weeks off for the holidays. We drove to Austin, and then flew to Asheville, NC. We were very fortunate and were able to see all of our friends and family, exception of one or two people. We had a fantastic time, but it was really cold! Christmas at his mother’s house was quiet and relaxing.  We went to the Gingerbread Competition at Grove Park Inn for an evening that ended us up in a dual piano bar.  The Gingerbread houses were amazing.  (My favorite is below)  They had all kinds of Christmas trees decorated and displayed that were beautiful.

Next, we flew back to Austin on the 23rd for Christmas with my family and friends. Christmas was crazy, but lots of good food and fun. We went to see Tron at the Texas State Museum Imax in 3D. It was OUTSTANDING!!! I really enjoyed the movie and was very excited to see Disney do such a great job. We also went to the Alamo Drafthouse on 6th St for the Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long. That was full of fun and laughs!

New Years was quiet at home in California and I played with all my new gadgets from Christmas. As always, I watched the New York Ball Drop too.

Here is to a new year full of new experiences and lots of fun and adventure….

Well, so much has happened in the last 3 months I don’t even know where to begin.  First, I am no longer in Greenville, SC.  I was just not myself there and feel like now that things happened the way they did, I have found myself again.  I am unbelievably happier now and making more steps to improving my life and my future.

I am currently in Southern California east of Los Angeles.  I am doing a travel assignment out here and really enjoying it.  I am hoping to be able to start a fresh contract again after this one is complete so I can stay at this hospital.  The people are wonderful there.

Since, I have been in California I have not done too many things except head out to Crestline almost every weekend with Matt for some Hang Gliding excitement.  My lessons are at a halt at this moment, but I am planning on getting back into things come next Spring.   Matt and I have done some very exciting things besides the awesome Hang Gliding weekends of flying and fun.

We went to see Gary Allan in Universal City, which was sooo much fun!!

We also went to the L.A. County Fair one weekend.  They had the Worlds largest Outlaw BBQ Grill there that was pretty neat.  We had a really nice day celebrating 3 years of meeting on the airplane.

We also made it out to the ZZ Top and Tom Petty Concert!  I just love Tom Petty and he put on a great show.  That was a lot of fun and a last minute decision to go.

Then, for Matt’s Birthday my sister Jackie came into town and we went to Universal Studios for a day, then made our way to San Diego to the Stone Brewery.  You can see pics of that on Matt’s website.

Lastly, we went back to Austin for my birthday to celebrate with all of my family and friends.   We went to the Oasis to see LC Rocks.  It was a blast as always!  We also ate out at Kerby Lane Cafe and Mighty Fine Burgers, some of Matt’s favorites.  It was a fantastic weekend with everyone.  You can see pictures from this weekend on my facebook page.

This weekend we went to Chattanooga, TN and the boys flew twice on Friday at Lookout Mountain Flight Park.   Then, on Saturday it was rained out so we went out that night to the Riverbend Festival and heard Charlie Daniels play and watched the fireworks show.  Finally, on Sunday the boys flew twice again at Henson’s Gap this time in the Sequatchie Valley.

May 20th, 2010 >> Concerts, Travel

Matt and I arrived in Austin, TX on Friday May 14, 2010 at 9:30am.  We had to get up at 4am eastern time and fly!  Early Early Early!!!   When we arrived we went to Kerby Lane Cafe for some lunch with Casey and Jackie.  This is a local restaurant here in Austin that has a great reputation for their food and service.  Matt tried their signature Bloody Mary and couldn’t stop raving about how good it tasted.

Then, Matt and I went to visit with one of my closest friends… Brent!  We all hung out at his condo and relaxed.

Dinner at my parents house was too follow that included some knock out lasagna and chicken alfredo.  Yummy!!!

To wrap up our first day in Austin, Matt, my parents, my aunt and uncle, two of my cousins and their other halves, my sister and her husband, and all of my closest friends went to Sherlock’s Pub for a night of entertainment from LC Rocks. Their video is at  We all had a fantastic time!! I was so happy that they all came out with me to meet everyone and just hang out.  I can safely say I think everyone had a great time.

My immediate family at Sherlocks.  I promise the extended family is there too…

On Saturday, we all attended my brother’s wedding reception.

On Sunday, Matt and I went to see Iron Man 2 in the IMAX in Pflugerville.  I really enjoyed the movie.  I thought the CGI was a little much during the fighting scenes.  I think it should have been slowed down a bit.

I had a great weekend at home and enjoyed seeing all of my family and friends.  I can’t wait to see them all again.

Wicked the musical

February 10th, 2010 >> Concerts

I went to see Wicked the musical.  Click HERE and you will find a great summary of the musical.  I read it before I went to the show and found it to be really helpful.  I absolutely loved it!!! I thought everyone put on an outstanding performance.  The duets sounded amazing!  I thought that Glinda reminded me very much of Brittany Murphy in Uptown Girls.  Glinda was definitely my favorite of all the characters.  I have a whole new perspective about The Wizard of Oz now.

I highly recommend seeing this musical because it is worth it.  You will laugh and love it.

Gary Allan Concert was a BLAST!!!

November 14th, 2009 >> Concerts

I had a great time at the concert.  I have not seen Gary Allan perform live since fall 208.  I am used to seeing him 6 to 7 times a year.  Since moving to South Carolina, I have not had as many opportunities because he does not perform around here often.  I was almost center stage one person from the front.  I was great!  He sang in front of me 3/4 of the concert.  The concert was at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA.  That place is really cool.  I loved it and the acoustics were actually pretty good.  I thought that Gary put sounded better than he has in years.  He has gained some weight back and looks great and he was SOBER the whole concert!  He had one drink of Jack Daniels when he brought it on stage and one more at the end when he sang his whiskey drinking song.  I was very impressed.  He didn’t even forget any lines from his music this time!  I had a really wonderful time and can’t wait to do it again!  Below are a few pictures of the Tabernacle.
