March 24th, 2011 >> Educational

So this week I was accepted into Kaplan University’s Graduate School for a Master’s in Accounting with an emphasis in forensics.  I am really excited and start school April 20!  I can’t believe it.  I am very nervous and hope that I can get through it.  This should be exciting…

The application process has been a nightmare!  I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get everything taken care of to the point where I just want to pull my hair out!  Hopefully all this will pay off!

Craft Weekend with My Mother and Sister

March 21st, 2011 >> Crafts, Educational

This was such a great weekend of fun times as well as learning a few new crafts.  My mother and sister came to visit this weekend and we had a non-stop full weekend that just ended a few hours ago.  It began on Friday when we went down to Piecemakers Country Store in Costa Mesa, CA.  (  This is a small country style restaurant with arts and crafts for sale.  They also have a variety of classes anyone can take to learn a new craft.  They had some really neat things people made and I ended up getting a few things as well.  After our adventure at Piecemakers, we made our way up to Valencia, CA for a Scrapbooking class.  My sisters good friend was teaching the class.  We spent the entire rest of the evening their and into the night.

On Saturday, we were up to an early start so we could make it down to the Glitterfest in Santa Ana, CA. (  Glitterfest is a festival where a people set up a booth to sell their crafts and homemade items.  That was a very fun show.  I got a really neat terrarium along with some other neat plants.  After Glitterfest, we made our way to downtown Los Angeles to an area that sells tons of fabric and trim and much more.  It is streets of stores that sell everything a sewer could dream of.  The best place we found was Textile Collections.  They offer unbeatable deals on fabric and are on S. Wall St.  Then, we made our way to to the French General for a beading class on making Posies.  (

The two beaded posies and leaves that I made at the class.

Sunday, we woke up late and took it easy.  We all had a nice relaxing brunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  Then, off to the airport we went.

We had some really good laughs and made some fun memories this weekend.  It was really great to see my mom and my sister!  Thank you for coming out and visiting me!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Missing you guys already.

Juggling: The Passing Zone Gravity Attacks

March 13th, 2011 >> Concerts, Educational, Hang Gliding

Tonight I went to see The Passing Zone Gravity Attacks with Owen Morse and Jon Wee.  I met Owen a few weeks ago out at Crestline Hang Gliding.  He mentioned he is a Juggler and had a show in town coming up.  I went to see it and it was amazing.  Both of them are very talented and very entertaining.  If you get a chance to see them, I promise it is worth it.  I enjoyed the entire show and time just flew by.  The rubber band trick Owen does is pretty fascinating.  Their website is:

This is just a clip of “Their Story” I thought I would share:
The Passing Zone has been awarded five Guinness World Records and 18 Gold Medals from the International Juggler’s Association.

If you have a chance you should read their whole story, it is quite impressive.

Matt, Adam, Amber, Stella, and I all went down to Huntington Beach to ride bikes down to Newport Beach.  It was such a beautiful day outside with the perfect weather outside for riding bikes.  We spent the day riding and then had dinner while watching the sunset.  It was a relaxing fun day.  Here are some pictures below:

Me riding in Newport Beach.  BEAUTIFUL!

Fun with Matt in the sun!

My feet in the sand at Newport Beach.  There are mussels everywhere!  I have a tradition at every beach I travel to and that is a picture of my feet in the sand and taking a small rock.  I write the location on the rock with a glitter pen, spray paint over it with clear spray paint and put it in a very small old milk jug.

I finished reading this book and I learned a bunch of things about sewing I did not know.  This book is great for everyday sewing or just to learn how to stitch up a hole.  It also includes information on Tatting with a needle.  I am much more interested in Tatting will shuttles, but I finally got the basics down reading her tutorials in the book.  If you like to sew or want to learn to sew, this is a really good book to help you learn.

I finished reading The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters today.  It is a really good book about cooking and has lots of great recipes.  I would definitely suggest this for anyone who is learning to cook or just want some good tips for making food taste great without a lot of work.  I have made some really tasty dishes out of this book already.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

This weekend I had so much fun!!!  On Saturday night I went to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney.  I walked all around Downtown Disney and was suckered into the Miss Match Store.  This store sell socks in packs of 3 and each sock is different.  I just couldn’t buy one pack, I had to buy two so they would match.  There was also this really cool store called Ride Makerz.  Basically, you build your own race car and pick all your parts.  I had some fun in there!  The best part about tonight was I found some really awesome Minnie Mouse ears that I just had to buy!  Lastly, we headed over to LegoLand!  That was just soo cool!

On Sunday, I took a trip down to Seal Beach for a relaxing afternoon.  It was a bit chilly, but I enjoyed a nice walk and took some pictures.

On Monday, I went to Disneyland in Anaheim.  Oh my gosh I had such a great time!  The rides were just like the ones in Disney World except there were one or two I had not been on that Disney World did not have.  The Indiana Jones ride was really cool, it actually scared me for a second there.  At the end of the night we had some interesting entertainment watching an man play Make Pinocchio Dance.  Very, very funny!  I just absolutely loved the Buzz Lightyear Ride, we actually went on this one twice along with Space Mountain.  To see all these pictures see my facebook page.  Here are my favorites:
